Merry Christmas!!

Christmas is extra sweet this year with the addition of Navy May, born December 16th. We are all in love! Brooks is 2 and is pure JOY and ENERGY and SUNSHINE and I can’t imagine our lives without him in it!! Tanner & Ciara are wonderful parents and I’m thankful they live close by and that we can see them often. It’s been so great having Treyson and Ty here as they work/go to school, and I’m super happy to have Tate home from college in AZ during his winter break. For me, having my family around is the greatest gift I could ask for.

Oh, and for the second year in a row, Ciara absolutely slays at gift giving—personalized cups to keep me from losing my mind over the ridiculous number of cups that would be on my counter at any given time.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Congrats Tanner!!

Tanner has worked his butt off for the past few years and in May he finished up all of his course work to graduate from UVU’s Woodbury School of Business with his Master’s Degree in Accounting. I am so impressed by his grit and determination!! He will begin a career with Price Waterhouse Cooper in Salt Lake starting in September. Of course, he couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of his sweet wife, Ciara. We are so thankful for her and the sacrifices she has made to help him finish.

The future is big and bright for you, Tanner!! Congrats on you graduation!! I sure love you!!

New Things...

A couple of weeks ago, Ty finished up his senior college baseball season at Colorado State-Pueblo. He had a fantastic season batting .333 with 61 hits, 64 RBI, and 11 home runs. The day after his college season ended he packed everything into his car and headed to Windsor, Colorado, where he was invited to participate in the last few days of “spring training” for the Northern Colorado Owlz (formerly the Orem Owlz). He made the opening day roster and played his first game yesterday as their starting 3rd baseman—going 2 for 4 with 4 RBI! It’s been pretty awesome watching him navigate being a student-athlete through college and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for him!! I love you Ty!! Let’s go OWLZ!!

Senior Recognition and End of Season

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Tate! He had Senior Recognition Day on the 10th. The following week was a three game “play in” for the 6A State Tournament against Skyridge, then seminary graduation, then the 6A state tourney. His team played their hearts out, but ended up losing in the semifinal. I’m not gonna lie…I cried big, ugly tears. These boys and this team have been so fun to watch as they’ve progressed through the years. I was so sad to see it end. To top it all off, today was graduation. I’m still in denial that my baby has graduated and will be leaving to Arizona for college in the fall, but here we are. I love you so much and I’m so proud of you, Tate! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!!

RMAC Run Ends in 8-6 Slugfest With UCCS - Colorado State University Pueblo

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (May 13, 2022) – Two back-to-back home runs sequences for Colorado State university Pueblo were not enough, as the ThunderWolves' RMAC run came to a close at the hands of an 8-6 defeat to UCCS Friday evening.

The slugfest started fast and early with the first run coming from the Pack in the top of the first. Reggie Williams notched himself a double out of the leadoff spot and advanced to third off a wild pitch. Williams raced home off a Noah Hennings groundout.

UCCS tied it up in the bottom frame, but the Pack quickly turned up the heat at the plate. Off a 1-2 pitcher's count, Matt Shea led off the second inning with a well-struck home run over the leftfield fence. Before the Mountain Lions' pitcher could shake it off, Elijah Borjas got ahold of the next pitch and launched it over left-center and into the parking lot behind the stadium.

The back-to-back home runs gave the Pack a 3-1 lead and energized the ThunderWolves fans in attendance.

A dropped-third-strike and an error plagued the Pack in the second inning and the Mountain Lions were able to push in four runs across in the bottom of the second.

In need of more offense, the ThunderWolves found some in the top of the third. After two quick outs, UCCS committed a costly error and Ty Lewis made them pay. Lewis fought his way to a 2-2 count and sent a moonshot home run to right and hyped up his dugout on his way around the bases. Trey Vasquez crossed home plate thanks to Lewis' home run smack.

Two was better than one for the ThunderWolves once again and Shea followed the Lewis moonshot with a hard-hit line drive home run to dead centerfield. Shea was a part of both back-to home run sequences Friday afternoon.

After the ThunderWolves took another one-run lead, UCCS responded with a home run of its own. The two-run shot flipped the game back into the Mountain Lions' favor gave them a 7-6 advantage over the Pack after three innings.

Owen Rudolphi put in 1.2 more innings of work on the mound and kept the Pack in the game, trailing on 8-6 when Johnathan Ramirez came on in relief in the fifth.

Ramirez retired his first three batters and held the contest at 8-6 thru eight innings. Vasquez supplied web gems to the Ramirez performance on the mound but the Pack were unable to turn defense into offense.

The Pack needed to make one more push before the clock struck midnight on their RMAC run. Williams tallied his second double and fourth hit of the ballgame with one out, but it was too little, too late for the ThunderWolves. UCCS retired the next two batters and sealed the Pack's fate.

The 8-6 loss stamped an end to the CSU Pueblo baseball season.

Williams supplied four base hits out of the leadoff spot to lead batting for the Pack, but Shea highlighted the efforts with two home runs. Borjas, Shea and Lewis accounted for the four home runs hit in the contest while Hennings supplied the sixth RBI.

CSU Pueblo closes its books on the 2022 season and finishes 27-26 overall.
