Tired

When Tanner got home from school today I was lying in bed.
No, I'm not sick.
I don't have a headache.
I'm not PMSing.
I'm not depressed.
I just finished all of today's to-do's and I felt tired...so I climbed in my bed.
It's warm and my blanket is especially worn in and snuggleable.
It got me thinking about my growing up years...
I can think of ONE occasion when I ever saw my mom in bed in the middle off the day. And, the only reason she was in bed was because she was sick, sick, sick.
My mom, as I see her, is super woman. She made breakfast AND dinner for my family EVERY DAY. One of my favorite memories is waking up and having either a hot bowl of oatmeal (yum yum) or a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg with toast waiting for me before I headed out the door for school. We never had to wonder about dinner because something was always ready to eat at 5:30 pm. Even during the years when she would work in the afternoons, she would have something made and ready to put in the oven. I sometimes feel bad that my kids only know cold cereal for breakfast and are often having scrambled eggs for dinner because I either fail to plan ahead or am too lazy to put something together. Often I'm just a short order cook because my eaters are picky and it's not worth it to me to cook a meal that only one person will eat.
The house was always spotless.  Perfectly dusted, vacuumed, and scrubbed.
The laundry was always done, and not just done, but also put away.
I didn't realize what a big deal this was until I had a family of my own, and endless loads of dirty, stinky clothes.
My kids always have clean clothes, but they usually have to sort through basket after basket of clean clothes to find what they're looking for.  And then they're wrinkled, at that.
At any rate, I'm thankful for my mom. For her seemingly endless energy and love and concern.
I know you're reading this mom...I love you Soooooooo much and thank you for being my super woman!

You Are My Sunshine...

This is the face of pure joy.
I love this little girl and am so lucky I get to see her every day!
I especially love her "crazy hair" in these photos.

Welcome To The "Bashers Club"

Well, it happened...
Tanner had his first car accident.
We're just incredibly thankful it didn't involve another person.
Or another car, for that matter.
Although, I don't think our storage shelves feel the same way.
He has officially joined Kevin in the "Bashers Club".
Because they bash into things.

Deep Freeze

Below freezing temperatures every night for a week resulted in 6 frozen tomato plants.
Boo!!!
They were just getting ready to ripen, too.

Last Day of Winter Break

Today we ate lunch at Chubby's.  Tanner got the Po Boy...it looked delicious!  He's not very happy with me taking his picture.
Rebecca and Michelle's kids were back in school so we just hung out together all day.
Later that night we went out as couples and left the kids at Becca's house.  Tanner served as Taxi service, Ty and Bailee went to a dance, and we had a fantastic time!

WARTS and Other Nonsense

January 2nd was a day that Treyson and Tate were dreading!  They each had a whole bunch of warts that needed to be removed, so we headed to Grandma Bonnie's office and had Dr. Taylor remove them.  Trey and Tate were extremely brave and hopefully the warts will go bye-bye very soon!
It was such a beautiful day!  Here's a photo of the view of Mt. Timpanogos from Bonnie's office.
After we finished at the doctor's office we headed over to the University Mall to do some shopping, and then went to lunch with Rebecca and Michelle at Which 'Wich.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

New Years day started out with lunch with Donna and Anna at JCW's.  I can't tell you how much I love this baby girl.  She melts my heart.
After lunch we met up with the Schows, the Tranes, and Grandma Bonnie for a couple of games of bowling at the one and only Jack and Jill Lanes in American Fork.
What a great day!

NEW YEARS EVE

We spent New Years Eve day with the Lewis side of the family.  We went to Trafalga fun center in Lehi and played Laser Tag, Miniature Golf, and climbed the rock wall.  We went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A, and then we played games at Rebecca's house.
